On June 10, 2025, Singapore’s government and Tunku Ismail, the Regent of Johor, formalized a land swap agreement that involves a 13ha plot in Tyersall Park, adjacent to the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The land in question consists of a government-owned parcel of 8.5ha being exchanged for part of the Regent’s holdings, which totals 21.1ha across two plots. The 13ha plot, which is bordered by Holland Road and Tyersall Avenue, is set to remain undeveloped for the foreseeable future.
